Grand Nord-Kivu Arabica
Coffee at the outskirts of the Albertine

Arabica is cultivated in the eastern highlands ashore the African Great Lakes.

It the most popular type of coffee worldwide. In the DRC it’s mainly produced in the Eastern provinces.

Grown in higher altitudes and known for its sweet taste.

Arabica beans are slightly larger and more oval-shaped


Robusta Coffee
Fron the Ubangi Province

Also known as Canephora, Robusta is cultivated in low altitude regions covering the central plateau and equatorial regions of the Congo.

Historically, the DRC was a mainly Robusta producing country.

In the 1980’s, 80% of DRC’s coffee exports were Robusta.

Global coffee consumption is expected to increase to 200 million bags by 2030 (55% Robusta)


Petit Kwilu Coffee
from Mayombe, Kongo Central

A special Canephora variety unique to the DRC

Has smaller coffee bean and a sweeter taste than regular Robusta

Cultivated in the Mayombe region on the outskirt of the Luki Biosphere Reserve in the Kongo Central Province
